Instead, it is an extremely impressive proof of many years of entrepreneurial
courage and innovative farsightedness. The company Rose-Theegarten
was founded in Cologne in 1934 by Justus Theegarten and his son
Franz Theegarten, in the firm conviction that, in the packaging
sector in particular, the advancing industrialisation
would demand new, more productive and more automated solutions.
This soon turned out to be correct, and from then on trend-setting
innovations became a constant theme in the company’s history.
In 1994, the Rose-Theegarten firm took over the Dresden-based company
Pactec, thus complementing its production program in the form of
a strong partner with particular experience in eastern commerce.
Pactec had developed from the former combinate Nagema in the years
following the German reunification. Like Rose-Theegarten,
it came from a tradition of excellent know-how in packaging machinery
construction, whose historical roots in Dresden reached back to
the 19th century.
As a logical expression of this significant entrepreneurial amalgamation,
the locations of the two companies, separate until then, joined
forces at today’s head office in Dresden.
Today the company, which now belongs to the fourth generation of
the same family, is managed by Markus Rustler and
Dr. Egbert Röhm.
